How safe is it?

Hi
At the moment myself and my husband live in the UK. I have family in Kempton Park, we are thinking of running a lodge or guesthouse in Marloth Park,mpumalanga but i am just a bit concerned about safety I have read so much negative news about people being attacked in their homes, can anyone offer any advice? Or is anyone in the same business.
